LAUNCH OF THE PROJECT RESILFOR!

It starts the LIFE + Nature RESILFOR which will make the recovery of habitats of beech and fir forest in the Appenini mountains of Tuscany and Marche.

The project, presented in the notice of 2008 was approved by the European Commission in November 2009 and officially started in January 2010. It will end in 2013, it will involve many public and private entities that operate in the field of management and conservation of forests.

The beneficiary coordinator of project is Comunità Montana Amiata val d'Orcia located in Piancastagnaio (Siena). The others beneficiaries are Comunità Montanadel Casentino located in Poppi (Arezzo), Marche region and cooperative society D.R.E.Am Italia located in Pratovecchio (Arezzo).

The project was funded by European Commission for the 48.16% and will invest a total of 1,300,000 euros to genetically characterize the populations of Solver fi of central Appennino, identify good of specific components of community interest ( Bombina variegata, Salamandrina terdigidata, Rosalia alpina, Leucanum cervus) connected to the habitat of beech and fir forest.
